Metraclark, a key member of the Beijer Ref international group, recently hosted a lively customer evening at Gauteng’s A’la Turk restaurant – an event designed to strengthen relationships across the HVAC&R value chain while keeping attendees informed on the industry’s latest developments. The gathering brought together contractors, suppliers and staff in a relaxed social setting, but also provided space for open conversation on one of the sector’s most urgent challenges: commercial crime.

Representatives from Carrier presented during the evening, with Metraclark operations manager Johan Jooste facilitating the programme.

Carrier advancing efficiency and reliability

Carrier’s presentation highlighted the latest advances in Highwall, ducted and cassette systems. Innovations focused on enhancing reliability under challenging South African voltage conditions and improving ease of servicing. Contractors were shown how design refinements, improved component tolerances and smarter electronics contribute to more resilient systems that maintain performance even during load-shedding events.

Commercial offerings, including larger-capacity cassette systems, were presented with a focus on energy efficiency and installer-friendly features. Carrier also outlined its dealer network in South Africa, designed to support quality installations and aftersales service. The company emphasised a balance of adaptability, efficiency and practical application, reinforcing its commitment to the local market.
