South Africa’s leading HERVAC exhibition expands with regional Cape Town and Durban events

Now, for the first time, FRIGAIR is going regional.
Following years of requests from industry stakeholders and the overwhelming success of FRIGAIR 2025, a new Cape Town edition of FRIGAIR is scheduled for 2027 to be followed by Durban in 2028.
FRIGAIR Cape Town will be held from 2–4 March 2027 at the Cape Town International Convention Centre co-located with the Industrial Technology Exhibition; and FRIGAIR Durban will be held on 27–29 July 2027 at the Durban Exhibition Centre, also co-located with the Industrial Technology Exhibition.
The 2027 event will offer a more accessible platform for companies and professionals in the Western Cape and surrounding regions to engage with the latest products, technologies and industry developments.
FRIGAIR is Africa’s leading exhibition dedicated to the refrigeration, air conditioning, ventilation, heating and energy sectors.
The exhibition provides a platform for industry suppliers to showcase their latest products, services and innovations while giving visitors direct access to technical expertise, product demonstrations and industry networking opportunities.
The event is owned by SAIRAC and organised by Interact Media Defined and Montgomery Group Africa, bringing together some of the most respected organisations in the HERVAC sector.
For many years, companies and professionals based outside Gauteng have called for greater regional access to the FRIGAIR experience. The new regional format is designed to make the exhibition more accessible while also reflecting the unique industries and requirements of each host region.
According to the organisers, the regional events are not intended to replace the flagship Gauteng exhibition. Instead, they will complement it by creating opportunities for local engagement and industry participation.
The Cape Town event will provide visitors with easier access to suppliers, farmers, manufacturers, industry experts and technical content without the need for extensive travel.
Whether you work in refrigeration, air conditioning, ventilation, energy management, facilities management, cold chain logistics, food processing, retail, engineering or consulting, FRIGAIR offers a valuable opportunity to stay informed and connected.

The Western Cape’s agricultural industry relies heavily on refrigeration and cold chain systems to support fruit exports and food processing operations. The Port of Cape Town remains a major gateway for export logistics, while the region’s growing data centre sector is increasing demand for advanced cooling solutions.
Retail, hospitality, healthcare and commercial property sectors also continue to invest in energy-efficient air conditioning and refrigeration systems.
As a result, visitors can expect strong representation from businesses serving these sectors.
SAIRAC has confirmed that a workshop programme will form part of the regional event. While topics and speakers have not yet been announced, visitors can expect practical technical content delivered by industry specialists.
The workshops will provide an opportunity to learn about emerging technologies, regulatory developments, industry best practices and professional development topics relevant to the HERVAC sector.
