The new product can reportedly provide a leaving water temperature of up to 65⁰C. It is available in three versions, with outputs of 8 kW, 10 kW and 12 kW respectively.

Daikin, a Japanese heating company, has introduced a new split heat pump with a mid-temperature refrigerant that can reportedly achieve a water temperature (LWT) of up to 65⁰C.

The new product, named Altherma 3 R MT, is offered in three models with capacities of 8 kW, 10 kW and 12 kW respectively. It uses a compressor and a refrigerant to transfer heat from the air to the water. The refrigerant split unit can provide cooling, heating and domestic hot water.

The company says that the new heat pump can also work reliably with an outside temperature of -25⁰C and deliver the expected LWT levels at an outside temperature of -15⁰C, without relying on any backup heating.

It has dimensions of 1 003mm x 1 270mm x 533mm, and weighs 107kg.

The heat pump reportedly has an A+++ energy efficiency for space heating, and an A+ energy efficiency for domestic hot water. “Daikin Altherma 3 R MT is a quiet heat pump. The noise level of 35 dBA (in low sound mode) at a distance from 3 metres is similar to being in a library,” Daikin said.
