With just over a year to go, the best stands in the 2025 offering of Frigair are rapidly being booked. As the HERVAC sector’s only dedicated event in Africa, it represents a not-to-be-missed opportunity to be seen among the elite of the industry. The HERVAC industry is known to produce the best outcomes when done through physical interaction, and such opportunities abound at FRIGAIR.

Since 1980, FRIGAIR has been providing an industry[1]preferred platform for engagement on doing business, knowledge transfer and networking opportunities. The 2025 event will no doubt create excitement and stimulus for the entire heating, energy, refrigeration, ventilation and air-conditioning (HERVAC) industries.

It is one of the South African Institute for Refrigeration and Air Conditioning’s (SAIRAC) premier events, as well as the largest dedicated HERVAC trade exhibition in Africa. FRIGAIR 2025 will feature an exhibition, workshops and courses which are eagerly anticipated by the industry, if 2022’s event is anything to go by. The exhibition and its line-up of several free-to-attend workshops and courses will once again take place at the Gallagher Convention Centre in Midrand, on 4–6 June 2025.

A lot of progress in techniques and technology has occurred over recent years, driven primarily by solutions to aspects related to indoor air quality, as well as efficiency and the heightened drive to mitigate global warming and its effects – where the HERVAC sector plays a significant role in terms of energy and refrigerants.

Frigair 2025 aims to top 2022

ebm-papst South Africa plans to be participating at FRIGAIR 2025. The company’s sales director Steven Friedmann has the following to say on its previous experiences and highlights: “As ebm-papst, I can honestly say that being part of Frigair and exhibiting at the expos has been a fantastic experience. Any opportunity to engage with industry role players and partners is welcomed.”

On how participating in FRIGAIR benefitted their business in the past, Friedmann says: “ebm-papst is at the forefront of technology when it comes to air technology products. Therefore, we find Frigair a perfect opportunity to introduce new such energy-efficient related products to our market.”

Companies typically have certain expectations for Frigair 2025. We asked Friedmann if he had specific goals or outcomes the company hoped to achieve. “Yes, most definitely. Strategically, ebm-papst is on a major growth drive within the AC&V market, including retrofit. We will use this platform to reach not only our current customers but also invite representatives from various other sectors to view our product range. ebm-papst, amongst other new products relating to the agriculture and renewable sectors, will be launching their range of unmatched RadiPac 3C fans.”

Given the Covid-19 hiatus, HVAC&R companies appreciate the opportunity for face-to-face interaction with industry stakeholders at Frigair 2025. Friedmann says: “One word… priceless. The power of networking should never be underestimated. It is important nowadays – more so than ever before – to be constantly aware of one’s market. There is no substitute for ‘hearing from the horse’s mouth’ in business.”

“Unfortunately, within South Africa most regulations relating to energy efficiency are far behind where we believe they should be. One also needs to consider the effectiveness of ‘policing’ any such regulations, and we at ebm-papst believe vast amounts of improvements are required to achieve sustainability.” FRIGAIR is continuously looking to improve the event and improve exhibitors’ market impact. Friedmann comments on what he’d like to see change for the better: “Yes, exhibiting is costly for any company in today’s times. I would welcome any initiative to improve the overall attendance, not just relating to our direct market, but also end-users of all HVAC equipment.”

He lists some specific areas where he believes the expo could enhance its impact:

  • Marketing
  • Awareness of the event
  • Promote improved participation in conferences
