By SAIRAC Cape Town Centre

On Thursday 21 May 2026, the SAIRAC Cape Town Centre hosted its highly anticipated Annual Golf Day at the picturesque Bellville Golf Club.

The morning began under a blanket of mist; however, participants were fortunate to enjoy dry weather throughout the day, allowing for an excellent afternoon of golf and networking.

The popularity of the event was evident from the overwhelming response received from industry partners. This year, a full field of 29 four-ball teams participated, necessitating a shotgun start at 12:00. Demand for entries exceeded available capacity, and unfortunately several companies had to be turned away due to the event reaching its maximum number of participants well ahead of the closing date.

The logistical demands of hosting such a large field were met with professionalism by Bellville Golf Club, which successfully sourced additional golf carts to accommodate the approximately 62 carts required for the day. While a few minor technical issues arose, the club’s staff responded swiftly and efficiently, ensuring minimal disruption to play.

Walking the course throughout the day by Cape Town Centre Secretary provided an opportunity to witness the true spirit of the event. Beyond the competition, the day was characterised by outstanding camaraderie among participants. Friendly banter, shared laughter and enthusiastic congratulations for well-played shots could be heard across the course, reflecting the strong relationships that exist within the HVAC&R industry.

As the afternoon progressed, players enjoyed an eventful round of golf, with some teams only returning to the clubhouse as the sun began to set. Thereafter, participants gathered in the dining and bar area to enjoy a delicious dinner before the evening’s prize-giving ceremony commenced.
