At this year’s FRIGAIR exhibition, taking place from 4-6 June in Johannesburg, Danfoss will present a powerful lineup of innovative HVAC and refrigeration solutions under the theme ‘Transition forward’, emphasising the company’s commitment to accelerating the green transition across the cold chain and building environments.

Visitors to the Danfoss booth will experience firsthand how the company’s comprehensive product portfolio supports a smarter, more sustainable approach to cooling and heating—from farm to table, and beyond.

Among the highlights:

Revolutionising cold storage efficiency: the debut of NeoCharge

Danfoss will introduce NeoCharge, its latest breakthrough in cold storage technology. Designed to significantly reduce energy consumption in refrigerated warehouses and storage facilities, NeoCharge represents a major step forward in energy efficiency for large-scale cooling applications.

Industrial heating with natural refrigerants

Supporting the transition to sustainable high-temperature industrial heating, Danfoss will showcase the BOCK HGX56 CO₂ T – a powerful six-cylinder compressor built for CO₂ applications. This solution enables cleaner heating while supporting decarbonisation efforts across energy-intensive industries.

Food service refrigeration solutions

In the food service segment, Danfoss will highlight a wide range of solutions approved for low-GWP and natural refrigerant applications. These include:

  • Cold room optimisation tools such as Optyma™ Control, and VLT® Refrigeration Drive FC 103
  • IoT and connectivity innovations that offer improved performance monitoring and control

These solutions are designed to help food service providers reduce emissions, cut operational costs, and ensure food safety.

Transition forward in food retail: real-world impact with Danfoss Smart Store

At the retail level, Danfoss will spotlight its Smart Store concept, successfully implemented in Nordborg, Denmark. This flagship installation combines cutting-edge HVAC, refrigeration, and energy management technologies to:

  • Minimise food loss
  • Improve food safety
  • Optimise energy use
  • Integrate with the local energy ecosystem

Attendees can explore live data and results from the Smart Store and learn how to replicate its success using existing, commercially available technologies.

Advanced controls for smarter food retail operations

Experts will also present:

  • The System Manager AK-SM800A, the central brain behind Danfoss’ ADAP-KOOL intelligent HVAC and refrigeration systems
  • Alsense, Danfoss’ cloud-based monitoring and management platform for smarter, more connected food retail operations

“Customers across the industry are urgently seeking solutions that can reduce emissions while improving performance,” says Roy Naidoo, sales director, sub-Saharan Africa. “At FRIGAIR, we’re excited to show how our technologies are helping make sustainable cooling a reality. We invite all visitors to stop by our stand and discover what’s possible today.”

With a clear focus on sustainability, energy efficiency, and digital innovation, Danfoss’ presence at Frigair promises to inspire industry stakeholders to move confidently toward a cleaner, more resilient future.
