SAIRAC Cape Town Centre has reinforced its commitment to community upliftment with a substantial donation to Club21 Bellville, a small school dedicated to children with Down syndrome.

The contribution, with a total value of approximately R120 000, includes both financial support and essential classroom resources. A cheque to the value of R43 062 was handed over, with additional donated goods significantly increasing the overall value.
Items provided include a laptop for educational programmes, a television to support interactive learning, air-conditioning equipment, appliances and various classroom resources. These were sourced through donations and pledges from industry partners and suppliers, reflecting strong support from across the HVAC&R sector.
The funds were raised during SAIRAC Cape Town Centre’s annual luncheon, held on 13 November 2025 at Kelvin Grove Club. The event, supported by contractors, suppliers and industry stakeholders, featured entertainment by Rob van Vuuren and an energetic auction led by Theo van der Linde and Van Vuuren, which contributed significantly to the fundraising effort.
Currently serving just six to seven children, Club21 Bellville plays a vital role in providing specialised education and support to families in the community. The donation is expected to enhance the school’s teaching capabilities while easing pressure on staff and parents and will also support planned classroom expansion to accommodate more learners.
In addition to the monetary contribution, donated items included an air-conditioning unit, televisions, laptops, microwaves and bar fridges – all aimed at improving both the learning and operational environment at the school.
SAIRAC continues to champion both industry development and social responsibility, with its annual charity initiative serving as a key platform to mobilise support for community-focused causes.
School principal Amanda Fourie and teacher Rayka Marais expressed their gratitude for the support, noting the meaningful impact it will have on both learners and staff.
The official handover took place on 24 March 2026 at the Tygerberg SDA Church.
