CAREL, on 2 December 2025, hosted a live webinar on the topic ‘How STone Virtual Loop can streamline the developers working life in the HVAC/R industry’ presented by Matteo Galenda, CAREL application specialist HVAC residential group solution marketing, and Simone Armano, CAREL SSD HVAC and food retail manager – digital department. CAREL trialled the tool internally while developing its own residential heat pump logic. The results showed:

- 20% faster time-to-market
- Significantly fewer laboratory hours required
- Lower iteration count on prototypes
- These savings recur every year across the entire unit portfolio, not just on new models.
Why this matters for the HVAC/R industry
The HVAC/R industry faces:
- A shortage of thermodynamics specialists
- Increasingly complex control strategies
- Tight regulatory and cybersecurity requirements
- Pressure for rapid electrification (for example, heat pumps)
- High costs of laboratory testing
