The move enhances expertise at the critical interface between server-side liquid cooling and supporting infrastructure – an area of growing importance as AI and high-performance computing (HPC) workloads drive ever-increasing power densities.
As compute demands intensify, the interaction between server-level cooling systems and facility infrastructure plays a decisive role in overall system performance. Factors such as flow dynamics, hydraulic balance, control response, serviceability and lifecycle reliability are all influenced by this integration. The addition of STL brings advanced capabilities in cold-plate design, server-side liquid cooling, and high-density thermal validation.
This expanded expertise is expected to improve the ability to simulate real-world, high-density compute environments, optimise the relationship between the thermal chain and power systems, and support customers across the full project lifecycle – from design and integration through to commissioning and ongoing operations.
Industry leaders note that as AI and HPC applications push thermal limits, managing heat at chip level becomes fundamental to system performance and reliability. Enhanced validation and emulation capabilities will allow more accurate modelling of these conditions, enabling improved system-level outcomes in increasingly complex, liquid-cooled environments.
The development also reinforces a continued commitment to open, interoperable infrastructure ecosystems. Solutions will remain server- and silicon-agnostic, supporting a wide range of compute environments while focusing on improved performance and operational outcomes.
Overall, the integration of advanced thermal engineering capability supports a broader strategy of addressing rising infrastructure complexity through tightly integrated power, cooling, control and lifecycle service solutions.
