The Kelvin Grove Club, known for its elegant surroundings and impeccable service, proved to be the perfect venue for the event on 16 November 2023. The event kicked off with a warm welcome from the SAIRAC Cape Town Centre vice-chairman, Steven Palvi, who expressed gratitude to all attendees for their continued support and commitment.

The luncheon was a resounding success, with ± 185 attendees thoroughly enjoying the opportunity to connect, network and meet acquaintances within the industry. The event was made even more memorable by the presence of renowned comedian Barry Hilton, who provided top-notch entertainment throughout the afternoon. With a microphone in hand, he effortlessly commanded the stage and instantly connected with the audience on a personal level. He interacted with attendees, incorporating their responses and reactions into his act. This personalised touch made the experience even more memorable as his ability to find humour in everyday situations resonated with the attendees, resulting in uproarious laughter that echoed throughout the venue.
As the luncheon progressed, guests were treated to a three-course meal that showcased the culinary expertise of the Kelvin Grove Club’s talented chefs. The menu featured a variety of mouthwatering dishes, catering to different dietary preferences and ensuring that everyone’s taste buds were satisfied.

A note of thanks received from Barry Hilton:
“Thanks for having me as your guest speaker at the function last week. I live in Hermanus and was not too sure how to get to the gig. My GPS said, ‘take the R22, then the R44 to the R410.’ Apparently, the people had to pay, some thought it was for free. I asked my mate Richard Drummond how business was, he said this year was pretty cool, usually it blows hot and cold. I learnt a few things about the industry.
“Dan Foss is not a bloke, it’s a valve. Honeywell is not one of those clubs. I found out air conditioning is not fart control. Overall, I had a blast. Hope to see you again soon.”
