Industrial buildings are a significant portion of the existing building stock in South Africa, with great potential for decreasing energy (and the consequent reduction of carbon emissions), water consumption, as well as other environmental benefits resulting from better performing buildings.

The world economy is experiencing multiple crises in the form of rapid social, environmental and financial change. With building owners and developers assessing their current building portfolios and, in many cases, retrofitting their existing buildings into more sustainable assets, this tool would enable the assessment of the level of sustainability of these assets and open the door to greening a new building stock group with greater resilience to local and global change.

Please join the GBCSA Planet Shapers Online Event, taking place on Friday, 24 June 2022 for the launch of the Existing Building Performance Industrial PILOT Tool. Together with the tool sponsor, Growthpoint Properties, they will share what the main objectives of the tool customisation are. Further, they will unpack some of the adaptions that the industry can expect in this new existing building performance industrial PILOT tool, including the industrial benchmarking framework put forward for specific Industrial-types.

This online event will be hosted by Georgina Smit of the GBCSA and the speakers will include:

  • Grahame Cruickshanks, Growthpoint Properties
  • Simon Penso, Imbue Sustainability
  • Francois Retief, Sow & Reap Consulting from the appointed Consulting Consortium who helped develop the customised tool
  • Jenni Lombard, GBCSA.

Date: Friday, 24 June 2022
Time: 10h00 – 11h00

Note:
Webinar attendance is free. RSVP timeously to secure your spot. GBCSA will use GoToWebinar and details on using this platform will be shared with participants prior to the event.
