GBCSA’s Green Building Convention 2021 moving to CTICC

Green Building Council South Africa (GBCSA) is committed to delivering a world-class Green Building Convention to our sponsors, exhibitors and delegates. To do this, we have made the difficult decision to move the venue for this year’s Convention from Century City Conference Centre (CCCC) to the Cape Town International Convention Centre (CTICC) in Cape Town.

The reason for the unexpected change is that the Independent Electoral Commission (IEC) has specifically requested the CCCC as a vote counting station due to security protocols, for the Local Government Elections taking place on 1 November. This, unfortunately, clashes with our Convention, however, GBCSA is fully supportive of the democratic processes in our country and does not wish to disrupt the important work of the IEC.

Our conference organisers, idna and the GBCSA team will manage and deal with any implications arising from the change of venue to ensure a smooth and successful event for all our stakeholders. If you have booked accommodation at the Century City Hotel, this booking will be moved to The Cullinan Hotel on your behalf at no additional cost to you.

Should you still wish to book accommodation, The Cullinan has agreed to offer a discounted rate to Convention delegates. Please get in touch with the hotel to make your booking and quote “GBCSA Convention” as your reference. Rates are ZAR1 900 for the night of the 3rd of November and ZAR950 for any additional nights.

Collaboration and forging key partnerships are integral to shaping a sustainable future where people and planet thrive. I really want to thank the CTICC for their exceptional service and willingness to come on board to stage the Green Building Convention at the high standard that we are accustomed to.

“We are excited to be back in the heart of Cape Town and look forward to welcoming you there. With just a couple of weeks until the Convention, the excitement from our team, our sponsors, exhibitors and delegates is immense. It’s going to be three fantastic days of exceptional thought leadership and networking – I am really looking forward to engaging with you face to face. See you in November!”, Lisa Reynolds, GBCSA chief executive officer.
