The acquisition of Florida-based Carroll Air Systems is the latest move by the company to provide a more ‘holistic’ service for the design, installation and maintenance of heat pumps and cooling systems.
Daikin Applied says the recent US acquisition of a regional HVAC specialist reflects a global company-wide strategy to manufacture, commission and service cooling and heating systems. The company has this month announced the acquisition of Florida-based Carroll Air Systems, which both installs and services HVAC systems for commercial and industrial functions.
Daikin Applied said the deal would see its existing service team in the region be combined with Carroll Air Systems’ expertise. This would allow the group to operate as a single organisation which can install heating and cooling equipment and then maintain and support these systems over their entire lifecycle to ensure an efficient performance.
The new combined workforce will operate across central and west Florida. However, a spokesperson for the company told RAC Magazine that the move reflected a wider company strategy to ensure Daikin can operate as a single point of contact for providing HVACR equipment and services. This would include the design and the installation of a system which would keep the technology working effectively until the end of its operational life.
The company stated, “While this is specific to a certain region of the US, the acquisition is indicative of the direction Daikin Applied is moving toward as an organisation, transforming from an equipment manufacturer to a lifecycle solutions provider.”
These lifecycle solutions that will be offered by the company include design support, servicing and the supply of parts to meet HVAC needs and an anticipated demand for more sustainable systems. Daikin Applied said that the company would install and support its own systems and products produced by other leading HVAC manufacturers.
The company stated, “Customers will have one destination for all HVAC needs from selecting and commissioning equipment to maintaining systems to upgrading or replacing technologies.”
Daikin Applied said that would look to offer lower carbon heating as well as cooling solutions as part of the company’s ambition to offer and service HVAC systems. It cited the recent introduction in the US of its Trailblazer heat pump chiller that is designed to switch from cooling and heating modes in line with changes in external temperatures or industrial processes.
